Want to know why a reasonably new company like iRocker is already making waves in the SUP industry? It is simple really. Their products combine quality, as well as affordability and they are one of the very few company’s that actually listen to the feedback from their customers.
It is evident from the quality of their products as well as the accessory bundles that the guys over at iRocker spend a lot of time working on their inflatable boards to maximize quality and performance. And for the price, there is no faulting their products.
While the previous version felt short in a few areas, the 2018 Cruiser offers paddlers improved construction, quality finishes, a lighter paddle, a better pump and redesigned backpack.
In our opinion, there is a lot to like about the iRocker Cruiser.

What we like:
- It is an excellent SUP at a very affordable price
- The board is stable and has excellent rigidity
- It is sold with an ankle leash, a double-chamber triple action pump, repair kit, an easy-to-adjust three-piece paddle as well as a backpack
- Additional accessories like a kayak seat can be bought separately
What we don’t like:
- The width of the iRocker means it is better suited to cruising (we would say the clue is in the name)
- It is heavier than other boards
iRocker Cruiser Review
Before we get started, we feel it is important to mention we haven’t received monetary (or any other kind of) compensation for this review. While we and so many others wax lyrical about this SUP, it is entirely justified and very much deserved.
Want to know what all the fuss is about? Carry on reading, and we’ll tell you.
The iRocker SUPs combines durability, stability, quality craftsmanship and affordability, all of which make up a winning formula. But throw in an iRocking team of passionate boarders who also listen to their customers’ feedback and adapt their boards accordingly, and you get the iRocker 10’6 Cruiser.
Quality
The original 10’6 Cruiser was a stable inflatable already, but the guys over at iRocker decided to make it even tougher. It is constructed with four layers of military grade PVC, the same material as the Zodiac Special Forces boats. And it is finished off with industrial drop-stitching that helps the board maintain its shape, and keeps everything where it should be.
Described as almost indestructible, the inflatable SUP has a weight capacity of 400 pounds.
Measurements
The difference between a SUP and a good one is its versatility. And the iRocker Cruiser is precisely that. It can be used for fishing, paddling, or yoga; it is suitable for beginners, intermediate as well as advanced paddlers, and it is ideal for different types of water conditions.
But what makes this inflatable stand-up board so versatile? Quite simply, it is the measurements.
At 10’6 feet long, 6 inches thick and 33 inches wide, it can be called the perfect size. Whereas most boards are around 30 inches, the Cruiser is 33, which is what gives the SUP its stability.
Because of its responsiveness, and maneuverability, it is ideal for all types of paddling, yoga and even surfing. Regarding thickness, you can’t get much better than 6 inches, although they aren’t easy to find. The board floats nicely, and there is very little chance of water getting onto the board.
The tail of the board is also made with stability in mind. At 22”, it prevents the board from tipping side-to-side.
Performance
With stability as one of its main selling points, the Cruiser is stable enough for beginners, and handles well, even in choppy waters. At 10’6 long, with a width of 33” and a tail that measures 22”, you can fish from the paddle board, take a kid or a dog along for a ride or even do yoga. The only thing you won’t be able to do is all three together.
As far as maneuverability goes, the inflatable is easy to handle and tracks a straight line, but it’s not fast. It isn’t a great option if you are after speed. As the name suggests, it is for cruising.
Deck Pad
The deck pad of a SUP is an essential feature as it gives the board the necessary traction and comfort. The iRocker’s EVA pad is one of the few that extends all the way to the tail, and it is super grippy. The diamond shaped crocodile textured padding provides all the grip you need, even if it gets wet.
We like that the updated version has six different color pads to choose from.
Improved Features
We mentioned that the iRock Cruiser has undergone some significant improvements, and some features that were considered cons, like the paddle and the backpack, are as good as you would find on high-end boards.
Backpack/Carry Bag
Completely upgraded, the new backpack-cum carry bag fits everything you need to travel your board, including the pump, paddle, leash, repair kit, as well as extra clothes, bottles, and towels. There are inner and outer adjustable straps to keep everything in one place, and extra padding ensures absolute comfort.
Unlike the old backpack, this one is made from a thicker material, which stops the fins and paddle digging into your back. And the handle on the side means it can be used as a carry bag too.
The paddle
Whereas the previous paddle was made from aluminum, the new and improved version is made of fiberglass. This means it is lightweight so you can paddle for longer, and it comes with a rubberized grip. It can be adjusted from 72” to 86 and conveniently breaks down into three pieces for easy storage.
The pump
Not happy with the time the dual-action SUP pump to inflate the board, iRocker made the decision to include a dual-chamber triple action pump. This reduces inflation time by half. It also features a built-in pressure gauge.
Increased storage
An extra two D-rings means there is more storage space for you to carry additional gear.
Fins
The iRocker has a three-fin configuration, but it has been updated. In place of the older slide-in fin, it now snaps in easily and quickly.
The ankle leash
The improved safety leash is thicker and stretches fives times its length. Not only do the colors match the new paddles, but there is also a key holder, which we think is a simple but very convenient feature.
Color choice
Even though it had nothing to do with the SUP’s performance, the older version was only available in one color. The guys at iRocker heard this, took it on board and now there are now five colors to choose from.

Accessories
The iRocker Cruiser comes with a pump, repair kit, a carry bag, a leash and a paddle. But you can also purchase some of their SUP add-on accessories separately.
Cooler Deck Bag
The cooler deck bag keeps your drinks cold and your food fresh while you are out on the water. There is more than enough space for bottles, cans and food items. Not only are there mounting hooks that can be used to attach the bag to the nose’s D-rings, but there is also a handle to carry the cooler bag like a lunchbox.
Shoulder Strap
The shoulder strap is particularly handy if you need to carry your board when it is inflated. It is easy to attach to the Cruiser thanks to the metal hooks, and you can adjust it to make sure it is the right length for you.
iROCKER Kayak Seat Bundle
We especially like this accessory that converts your board into a kayak in a few easy steps. The adjustable seat is attached using the D-rings on the board. For your convenience, a kayak paddle blade is also included. All you have to do is replace the top piece with the kayak attachment.
