Have you tried stand up paddle boarding and loved it? Are you tired of having to carry a huge paddle board? You should try an inflatable paddle board. If you are in the market for an inflatable stand up paddle board, look no further than the Xterra inflatable 10’ stand up paddle board. There are many reasons why I specifically choose the Xterra Inflatable SUP as the perfect, versatile inflatable paddle board.
The xterra 10’ stand up paddle board is 10’ long, 6” thick and 30” wide, which are dimensions that will provide you with a very stable ride. The xterra board comes with an unbeatable package. It includes everything you will need as far as accessories go. It comes with the backpack for carrying (of good quality), a pump to blow it up (simple to use), an adjustable paddle (also easy to break down for storage purposes), and a repair kit (should you ever need it). In addition, this board has six D rings: four with bungee cords on the bow to help hold gear on, and one on both the front and back to tie the board to docks and keep it in place. I am extremely happy with the quality of this board for several reasons.
Pros
First of all, we are not all lucky enough to have a vehicle to transport a ten-foot structure, so the fact that this xterra Board can easily be deflated down and condensed into a backpack makes it worth every penny. This makes it so simple to store and travel with. Inflatable also means lighter. You can bring it on a plane, you can hike to a location with it on your back, and you can carry it with other gear you need. This feature alone makes it great because you can easily lend it to friends and family, or carry it with you on your own adventures.
The second positive to the xterra 10’ inflatable stand up paddle board is that getting it inflated is not a hassle at all. The high-pressure pump is simple to use and it only takes about five to ten minutes to get the job done. It also has a pressure gauge to add to the simplicity. Once it’s inflated fully, you can see that the xterra board is very durable and sturdy. It even feels just as hard as a regular paddle board when it is fully inflated.
The last and most important pro to me with this board is its stability. My biggest concern was that it would not feel solid enough, but this xterra inflatable board feels as sturdy as a solid board. With that being said, make sure you fully inflate the board (it should not feel spongy at all). I am a yoga teacher and not only like to paddle, but also like to practice yoga on my stand up paddle board. If you’re into headstands, the little bit of cushion this xterra gives you compared to a solid board is just what you need. While doing inversions and transitioning through yoga poses, the board still feels stable. The grip on the traction pad supports you and the width of the board is enough to easily find balance. Since this board and most inflatable boards act more like rafts do, it is ideal for river paddling too (any rocks you encounter will not create dings and you will float right over them).
Cons
The negatives for the xterra 10’ inflatable stand up paddle board are slim to none. The only negatives I really see for this particular board are that you do have to take the time to set it up (though it is no longer than ten minutes), it cannot immediately go onto the water without being pumped.
The other thing is because of the thickness of this particular board, it is not the fastest board out there (though the thickness does contribute again to the stability, which is strong). Speed is not a big factor to me on this isup, so I don’t mind it. I think the point is core balancing and there are other devices more suited for speed or surfing.
Accessories and Other Fun Facts:
In addition to the board, the paddle is important because it acts as your motor. The paddle that comes with this xterra inflatable board is reliable and of good quality. It is fit for all riders because you can adjust the height, and it breaks down into three pieces for easy transport into the bookbag when you are finished paddling.
Please note: you will also have to attach the fin to the board, which is no problem and very simple to do as well. There are three fins total; the removable center fin, and two side fins to help with steering and tracking in the water.
If you’re a GoPro user, this xterra board is great for capturing your adventures. I have attached mine directly to the deck pad foam, and it works like a charm. The GoPro does not come with the board but you can always buy one for your paddling adventures.
In Conclusion:
In comparison to competitors, this board feels just as sturdy (if not more so) than any other non-inflatable boards I have been on. It can hold more than one persons (or animals) weight, and it functions as well as other boards I’ve paddled on.
Overall, I would highly recommend the xterra inflatable stand up paddle board as an ideal inflatable option at a very reasonable price. Supping is a fun family activity that can give you a challenging workout, and allows you to get out onto the water and enjoy the scenery around you. Your xterra board can go on the bay for relaxing calm rides, a lake and/or the ocean for more versatile rides, and even for a river ride. It has everything you need, is ideal for transport, is very stable and is easy to use. No complaints over here have fun with your xterra inflatable board too! Please let us know how you like it!
